Lonely and Dreaming

There are times when you are alone, alone with yourself and dreaming away in tranquility. Dreaming with open eyes, anytime of the day, hearing the sound of silence, taking in the serenity of the ambiance and never feeling lonely for a moment. Such moments are rare but lead to a great deal of self provocation and awareness about self. You learn new things about yourself. Nothingness is a great way to reach out to your inner self. Forgetting everything and dreaming about something you love, you almost get lost in some safe arms that hold you tight. Giving you strength, comfort and pleasure. It also makes you realise the arms that you seek. It could just be the moment you need in the times of distress, discomfort or disbelief. The problem is that we spend very little time with ourself. Claiming to know ourselves inside out, we spend little quality time with self. What we need at these times is seclusion and solitude. A time when you are neither happy nor sad, not bound by any emotion,

Moving on a One-Way

Everyone who has ever been on a one-way would know the difficulties associated with it. You can never go back or afford a wrong turn or enter from the opposite side. You have to take every step very carefully so as to not miss a turn because if you do, you'll never be able to take it. You have to drive slow but you can never be too slow for the risk of being run over. This is analogous to our lives which are like one-way expressways, just that they are among the world's longest. And its the toughest drive possible. So many turns, so many lanes. Choosing the correct lane, driving straight on it, taking the correct turns, managing the correct speed; doing all this is what makes the drive so difficult. The most amusing thing is that whatever you do, no matter how carefully you drive, at the end you'll surely run out of fuel and come to a halt. Thus, its also important that you make sure you achieve your destination before the fuel runs out. You must also have the destinati

True Worth

Today ask yourself a simple question- What is the worth of your life on this mother earth? How long does it take you to get an answer? Do you even get an answer? Should it be taking you this long to get an answer? The conundrum arises of the fact that the world compares worth as per the Forbes List. Worth is measured in respect of the money you possess. Hence the problem. Is a new born then absolutely worthless? We are obsessed with giving numbers to everything and then comparing them. Even though we know that we can't give a man's worth only by his bank balance, car, house etc. Yet we give them numbers and even strive to increase them. It is a case where we know everything yet prefer to ignore the obvious for the lust in the darkness. Even the number crunchers describe the house, the car, the job as an "asset" . Now isn't your honesty, friendliness, morality, an asset. If yes, then why shouldn't that form your worth. But how do we measure that. So

The Need of God

The only reason why there was and still is a Superbeing present is because we need Him. Its the age old mechanism devised by men to find support in times of distress. Everyone fears an abyss. A situation where you are cornered, alone, pitch dark, with no signs of any light. Everyone who claims to be not afraid of anything like this might well be the Lord Himself. Being an atheist doesn't reflect that you have no belief in the Supreme but that you have had it easy till now and He has had the blessing on you, for you to evade a situation where you are bound to believe in Him. Eternal hopelessness might well be the black hole of life. Which is a pseudo existence until death. This is why we absolutely need God. Its the last thing we have to fall back upon when all other options are exhausted. People might not believe in The Phenomenon but everyone believes in hope and belief. Well this is what The Phenomenon represents. Faith is just a way to provide you hope and belief. When

An Elegy of Happiness

The oxymoron in the statement perfectly suits the oxymoron that life often presents you. There's sadness that accompanies happiness at times. This is also where values come in. Your values should tell you to acknowledge the sadness that accompanies the happiness and not get carried away with every slight excitation the fragile life offers you. No happiness is permanent and neither is any sorrow, whats important is to enjoy the moment but stay grounded and feel the physicality of life. Any change is painful. The larva is clumsy, ugly, slimy while the butterfly is colourful, vibrant, beautiful but the metamorphosis is painful. The most beautiful creation of God, a new born is the result of a very painful process. There is pain associated to beautiful results. What we often do is forget the pain and disassociate ourself from a lot many important things. The destination may be beautiful, but thats a momentary thing, what lasts longer and is more important is the journey. When we re

The Puppeteer or the Puppet

Its amazing to notice how the Puppet of one time has grown out to be the Puppeteer. The puppet meant to work for its master, for entertaining him, is now ruling and making the master dance to its tunes. Its something I realised from a very personal(aweful) experience. Losing a mobile- shouldn't that have hurt from the financial view point only. That's supposed to be the parameter for evaluating every materialistic thing. That's what governs the materialistic world, MONEY. It's the sole principle. Strangely though, the sorrow was hardly for the financial loss. You tend to associate yourself to these materialistic things emotionally. Never for one second do we realize how we are playing into the hands of the puppet, the control of our lives. The technology governs us. It makes us feel powerful, weak, in or out of control. It helps us make memories, keep memories and then so easily lose memories. We are so fragile, standing on a crust of ice, yet we feel so firm s

The Rebirth of GOD

You might think- when did the immortal ever die to be reborn again(or worse, does any such thing exist). "God is dead" is a widely-quoted statement by German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche. He proclaimed in his work "The Madman" as follows-: "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?" Seeing the anarchy and nihilism around us, many probably would tend to agree that we have murdered the creator of all. We, as one of His creations, should have given Him the due honor and regard by following natural order.
