Everyone who has ever been on a one-way would know the difficulties associated with it. You can never go back or afford a wrong turn or enter from the opposite side. You have to take every step very carefully so as to not miss a turn because if you do, you'll never be able to take it. You have to drive slow but you can never be too slow for the risk of being run over.
This is analogous to our lives which are like one-way expressways, just that they are among the world's longest. And its the toughest drive possible. So many turns, so many lanes. Choosing the correct lane, driving straight on it, taking the correct turns, managing the correct speed; doing all this is what makes the drive so difficult. The most amusing thing is that whatever you do, no matter how carefully you drive, at the end you'll surely run out of fuel and come to a halt.
Thus, its also important that you make sure you achieve your destination before the fuel runs out. You must also have the destination in mind at all times. Driving without a goal is futile. And if you lack it, go find a destination and then take time to figure out the correct route and then persevere on that route until you reach it.
The expressway has many detours, crashes, twists and turns. Take your time at detours, choose the correct path. Avoid the crashes and if its to a very dear vehicle or in close proximity; feel the pain, sympathise but whatever you do never forget that you need to MOVE ON.
There are several turns on the expressway that provide you with myriad opportunities. You need to take them to make the ride more pleasant. But even if you miss them. You shouldn't lose heart but keep on the road and look harder for the next possible opportunity on the way.
Some find the driving hard while others a bit easy; but the bottom line always is that we all have to keep Driving On. There is no escape route, a U-turn or a breaker. Its just a long one way where everyone is trying to get past you. You can never afford to let the traffic get to you. You need to concentrate on the job at hand. Avoid crashes and even if you do crash, repairing it to become stronger and realising the mistakes to avoid in the future.
The best thing the analogy tells us is that whatever happens in life we need to MOVE ON.
"Life is about making the right decisions and moving on."
